In her early beginnings, Hiam participated and performed
in concerts in night clubs with a number of Lebanese artists including:
George Wassouf, Alameh, Walid Tawfiq, Ahmed Doughan, Rabih Elkhawli,
and Mona Merashli. She also participated in Lebanese nights with
George Wassouf in Brazil.
Hiam who has been named "number one singer" by the chief
editor of "al Shabaka" magazine, Mr. George Ibrahim Khouri,
and in spite of the numerous obstacles she faced, has managed to
assert her rank in the Lebanese and Arabic artistic arenas as a
radiant singer, with her mountaineering voice, unique like no other,
who a musical world of her own and who is considered the heiress
of the Shahrourah of Lebanon, Sabah.
After making her way successfully with firm steps,
and recording her own songs without abandoning the Mijanah, Ataba
and roundelays of Zahle and Lebanon, Hiam's agenda since the early
nineties started to fill up with her own concert dates at various
addresses. And in between examining lyrics, listening to matching
tunes and recording the songs in studios, she had artistic episodes,
concerts, and a noticeable participation in many Lebanese and Arabic
festivals, moreover she answered the invitation of the Lebanese
immigrants in many foreign countries, performed concerts, entertained
them with the Lebanese Mijanah which she excelled in with her resonant
voice and brought these immigrants for a brief moment back to their
homeland.
Hiam, the Lebanese artist who enraptured the Arab
world with her voice has been giving a lot to her country Lebanon
with no return, participating in festivals and concerts whose funds
go to humanistic and charitable organizations…
